ChrisVilla 06-13-2002, 05:31 PM Hey guys,
Just wanted to pop on here and tell you about the new trailer we've just posted for our animation, 'Satin Ice.' It was done using C4D R7 and BodyPaint.
Go to www.hollowpointdigital.com and click on the 'Current Project' link.
Any feedback is welcome...
Thanks,
Chris

nice to see a C4d short up. Looks good so far. The text in the clip was a bit blurred. Probably compression, but i thought i would tell you anyway.
looks very professional! the music is a bit too pumping but ok.

not that you could answerthis if it is the case, but by anychance is this project now being done in Oxygen? I mean like Joust was done in Amber? I know you have been working on this for ages but I caught the Maxon Pictures assocation joke and started to wonder.

The guys who worked on this project have a special connection to MAXON - when you call in for tech support they answer the phone. That's the source of the "MAXON Pictures Association" gag.
All the scenes for the Satin Ice trailer were created in V7. Pyrocluster was used for the snow effects (Kev presented these techniques at Sig last year). I think SLA was used for the ice. Chris or one of the other hpd guys could give more info on specific effects.

Yeah I remember the Scene with the snow from back then, they were the ones responsible for making my old teacher think he should get PC for the school. No one uses it there tohugh as they are to new to 3D to start using somehting like PC lol. Great stuff though can't wait to see it finished. And maybe the school will start using it when I go back to teach there. and I'll finally get to play with a little dynamics.
