I'm doing a model and i wanted to give him leather boots, and for his suit i wanted it to be a cloth material, but how can i achieve that look?? Anyone have any good presets for either of these??

To get cloth to look good you can use gradients based on the incidence angle to vary diffuseness and color. (because of all the microfibres that catch light at the edges you can use a gradient based on incidence angle with to keys: One at 0 degrees with the color white. Alpha at 100 %. And one key at 90 degrees with color: black. This alpha should be at 0 %. Set the layer blending mode to Normal or Add and play with the opacity of the layer to make it look good).
You can also play with the BRDF shader to add subtle highlight effects.

A smart trick to make silk or velvet is to set specularity to e.g - 50 (minus fifty) to get dark highlights, but be careful that you first reduce glossiness to 10 or so before you punch in the negative number in the numeric specularity field. (You can't edit glossiness when specularity is at 0 or below so turn up specularity to a positive number before you set the glossiness and the negative spec.)

Check the Newtek site they had a surfacing comp awhile ago and some good leather textures came out of that. Sorry not sure of the link.
