would somebody please tell me how to measure distance between one object to the other...
and also what is exactly softimage unit....?
How is it related to Grid unit...?

There's a script called "INFO DISTANCE - OBJECTS" in the netview, under Tools/Other (SCRIPT).

A SI unit is exactly what it says - A SI Unit. It can be what ever you want it to be...
