Here is the UI that I wrote for controlling the character.
Only the face is completely rigged up so far

veeery nice interface, would be ahemm, great if the rest of us could get a copy of it so we could apply it to our own rigs if you dont mind :)

I can only crit the animation... the only part that looked wrong was the sudden cheek-suck-in on "should." Its more of a lips extend out than a lips contract in deformation.

I would share the UI with everyone but I need to get the instructions and the bugs all worked out so that you can setup your rigs to work with the interface.

I will get a tutorial all written for creating your own UIs like it.

Just need some time.

please do. That would be oh so sweet.

I'm an animator/artist turned programmer as of late. I started with C and C++ and a bunch of web stuff (php, actionscript). All that is pretty similar. How is MEL in comparison? I bought "Complete Maya Programming" and haven't yet gotten too into it because of time issues. So, I just wanted to get your take on it. Is it a big jump from one to the other? Any good links to get started? Thanks in advance!!

I like the interface very very much. Ever think of doing one with a selectable image as the control set?? i.e.- touch the joint on the image and MMB to adjust? Just a thought.

this interface was written in 3DS Max using Maxscript

I was thinking of doing the images for the mouth shapes but decided on using sliders and labels to make it easier to take the UI to other characters

I might still integrate line drawn images into the interface to represent the mouth shapes.

I have updated the animation if anyone is interested.
