Hi everybody,
I want to upgrade my desktop system and i need you advice. I don't know what cpu is better/faster for rendering between this two cpu's: i7 3930K SandyBridge and i7 3770K IvyBridge. the only thing that i know is that the ivybridge is the new generation from intel. :)
The chipset that i found to be ok for this two cpu's are: Intel Dx79TO10, socket 2011 and DZ77GA70K, socket 1155.

The 3930 gives you 19.2 ghz over 6 cores vs 14 ghz over 4 cores for the 3770 but is almost twice as expensive. And afaik socket 1155 supports only 32gb of ram vs 64 for socket 2011.

3930 is currently the king over anything ivy bridge is offering, hence why intel designates it as their higher end performance sector before going to xeons
