View Full Version : Forearm problem
Carm3D 11-27-2003, 08:14 AM Can anyone explain why parts of the forearm are not following along?
I'm using 4 muscle bones that go up the forearm.. They give excellent twisting-action. But it goes bad when the arm moves.

Looking at it it seems the Muscle Bones have to much SLIP value, if u used SLIP that is.

Carm3d... Buy Joe's CDs...
Many of time I want to answer your question but it would really be a disservice to give out tips of Joe's techique. Now I had my own before Joe's but I use his now because its so easy to setup and forget about it.
Thats too many bones for the forarm.
Your forearm do twist from the elbow.

Here I have re-done the forearm (for the fourth time).. This time the way I believe would be "the Messiah way." It gives me less control over how the individual muscle groups behave, but supposedly the fewer bones the better for Messiah right? And yet it's still exhibiting the same problem. Why do the bones decide not to grab all of the forearm??
Everyone seems to praise how awesome Messiah's bones are.. What am I missing here?
That is infact VERY VERY odd.
Can u post only the arm object so we can take a look at it?

OKay it's right here (http://www.Carm3D.net/Buffy_Temp.lwo).
Hummm sorry, can u post the arm object and part of the rig? Im sorry i forgot that.
Anyway im not having troubles with a fast rig on the arm. Are u sure there isnīt any leftover Bone from a previous Setup, probably hidden? Because something is making that forearm geometry stay in place.
If u can post the scene would be helpfull.
