View Full Version : Getting Started 2
DePingus 11-27-2003, 03:37 AM Greets to all! Just downloaded the messiah:animate demo and I have a couple o' probs with the Getting Started 2 tutorial in the docs. When I create the 1st bone I dont see an actual yellow bone, I just see a blue line. If I create the 2nd bone in the chain it looks fine. My second problem comes up while trying to delete items from the list. The tut says just pick it and hit delete (simple enough). But when I pick the item and press delete I get a dialog box asking if I want to delete the current item , hierarchy, etc...no matter what I choose nothing is deleted. What am I missing?
Thanks for the help! BTW, love the light heartedness of the docs. Makes for a great read!

you have to hit the minus key to delete bones. i was freaking out with it too :)

That drove me crazy too - remember it's the minus key on the numeric pad. The other minus key actually scales the world grid down. I have a LW background and this minus key actually deleted items/objects from the scene.
Remember to have the Quick keys chart handy - that'll help a great deal as you're learning. This was originally typed up by Julez4001 for the list:

Thanks for the link! Lots of great stuff on there. About those Screen Tools, did you mean ScreenMenue? ScreenMenue seems like it would be useful as hell once I figure out what commands i'll be using most!
BTW, still have that lingering question about the 1st bone not appearing...
