View Full Version : WIP - FXWARS 35 - Manja
manja 06-22-2012, 09:04 PM hi, first time on a challenge, though i've been willing to do one for awhile now.
i'm gonna do a controlled demolition of a building, but it's just an excuse to try developing some lego smoke.
i think i'm just gonna need maya for now.

I used:
Maya: Soup voronoļ + Dmm + other personal scripts for dynamics, Soup plugin for the bricked smoke.
Vray: Rendering
After effects: Comp.
LeoCAD and 3Dsmax: exporting bricks, had to go through max too.
i had a lot of fun doing this, just as i expected, and i had to dig deep into the Soup plugin which is really powerfull, (many thanks to Peter Shipkov for that btw), so that was a very rewarding challenge.

Lol, love it. The dust cloud came out great and the camera angle really sets it off.

thank you.
i wish i had enough time to make another point of view from the top, wider, but i've been way too busy at work. :(

This turned out great!!
I love the camera angle and dust as well (its interesting to see the results of your cloud and my nuke done if different ways :) ) !
The building collapse is awesome/epic. feels a little heavy for lego but looks great :)

thxs
i wanted to feel some kind of weight since it's a building, and keeping the speed of a lego tower of like 4 or 5 feet tall. that's a paradoxe, but this way we have both style in one. ;-)
