View Full Version : Blurring behind the alpha of a footage

I have a background footage and a glass panel which will be placed in the front of the entire composite. I want to make the front glass panel like frost glass and I want it to blur the background image. Panel has alpha channel rendered.

I'm not much of a compositing guy so I wonder how can it be handled in any one of the below software:

Adobe premiere
Combustion
Adobe After Effects

Duplicate the layer, blur the top one, crop it/ mask it of. Works in any of the 3 tools.

Those are pretty straight forward instructions. Go read up on how to do that in AE. It'll take 2 minutes in the help menu.
