if you don't plan on much gaming activity, and therefore can do without the most recent pixels shaders, go for a quadro4 980.

instead if you really can't do without gaming options you should go for the 5900.

I still have to find a decent HW site that I could trust.
the only ones that are good are often more into gaming or single CPU overclocking exigencies then into DCC of any kind.

for the games you want to play or not check a list of HW reqs and see if they require pixel shaders 2 or strictly need directX 9.x compliancy.

IE: deus ex 2 prolly won't run on a quadro4, while it would run perfectly on the 5900.
