It's the first time I model something with clay (super sculpey in this case), I got inspired by this thread (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=103577) so I went to buy some sculpey and few tools and started something right away.

I used few pictures as references, it's far from perfect and accurate, it took me about 6 hours to complete it.

Feedback appreciated, thanks

Hey phgroove, that's great! I like the texture on the skin. Nice touch with the backlit SSS render too.:)
Care to share anything about the process of making this and the tools used? Maybe you have a link for some startup info. I'm thinking about getting into this, seems like fun.
Also, how hard will this model be when it's finished, will it wither quickly?

Looks Great!
The Photoraph with the light coming through the sculputure looks really good.
My only comment is that all the tentacles are in the same general position. It would have been nice to have one or two reaching out as if it was moving.
Did you sculpt the beak and underside?
Keep Sculpting!
