Like so....

ie that purple tint with distorted whitish to purple reflections.
Is there any tutorials on something similar?

I can't find the image but i remember someone posting a node setup where they use the colour mix node and split the output into its RGB component and then recombined the RGB values with different IOR values.

no it was in the either the Cycles test thread, or the Brecht easter egg surprise thread. Finding it will be difficult. If you like I can create a node setup of what I mean.

It's not the same effect you are trying to achieve but I believe with some tweaking you should be able to achieve that effect.
