i am using photoshop 6.0 with standard filters and brushes

i'd like to know the way to create the effects of
1) melting eg words made of ice melting, with water dripping down and
2) spilling eg a gun shot wound with blood spilling over the wall, clothes etc
3) metal chain
4) flame

i am not skillful enough to make them with brushes alone, so are there much simpler ways ...(like clicking just a button) to make these heehee :bounce:

thank you x9999999999999

Would you like fries and a shake with that?

Let me give you a general idea of what you need to learn, and you can scour the web to find the answers (like I do).

For number 1, rasterize text and play with the wind filter, blurring and liquifying.

No. 2 Try painting and adding layers with chromed or plastic wrapped filters applied to copies of the blood. This is the fast way, which you seem interested in.

No. 3 Try making an oval with the pen or shape tools, applying strokes and repeating them on different layers. Then you can work out the angles, color and shading.

No. 4 Make a shape, blast it with wind several times, blur it, smudge it, and add a hue/saturation adjustment layer for color. Do this to several copies of the layer with different smudges, modes, and opacity.

All this takes work. There is no way around it. Photoshop will give you back only what you put into it. Good luck.

might want to start over at good-tutorials.com for simple effects such as these.

start with the basics, LEARN ONE before jumping into others. easier that way. There is no quick "one button" for all the things you wanna do, it's rather complex. jadedchron suggested a good site to start, take it from there and learn the basic.

good luck

help
is there a way to customize the wind filter
eg directions, the "strength" of the wind, of the szie etc....the wind seems too weak, the blast seems too "powerful"
and one more thing
i cant find the liquifying filter
thanks x99999999999999

thanks x99999999999999  The wind filter isn't very customizable, you'll have to make any necessary rotations afterwards using the free transform tool. But the filter is only useful if you have a little experience with how it works, so you know exactly what to select to achieve an effect.
The Liquify filter is all the way at the top of the plug-ins menu, at least in PS7 it is... I don't think it's available in PS6 though.

And by the way: Reading "thanks x99999999999999 " over and over gets a little irritating, please don't overdo it... if you expect professional help and replies, at least try to fit in.
