View Full Version : NEW messiah video: MetaEffectors
fwtep 11-24-2003, 11:02 PM Joe Cosman made a great little demo of MetaEffectors and how to use them with bones. Check it out on our web site in the Video Demos section!
http://www.projectmessiah.com/x2/videos.htm (Scroll down.)
Also, for those of you who are considering buying Joe's training videos, this is a great example of how clear, concise, and useful they are. (Of course, the image quality on the CD's is better.)

Cool video :)
the other small thing that came to my mind is that we actually dont need to parent metaeffector to the bone.
Skeleton will consider the static weight values form the setup...
so once we position the effector in the correct place in the setup mode, the bone weight will function properly when animated.

I did note that Joe said to "shift select" to add item (mesh) to weight drawing list. I believe it's safer to use "control select" as he instructed in his tutorial CD on metaeffectors.
It's no big thang though:)
Thanks a bunch for the insight Joe.

Hi
My windows media player 9 won't play the clip. Even after re-downloading the latest player.
get this error: "The file you are attempting to play has an extension that does not match the file format. Playing the file may result in unexpected behavior."
I've had this with other files off the pmg site, but I then try the various formats till I find one that works.
Any help would be appreciated!

You probably don't have the divx codec installed. I woud go to www.divx.com and download the codecs to view the video.

"colour," there must be something wrong with your system. The file exetnsion is WMV, which is what the Windows Media Encoder puts on it. Have you actually tried playing the file when you get that error message? Check on the Microsoft Knowldgebase for more info.
