Quote from AICN:

"Tonight I attended a forum with David Lynch, the guest of honor and recipient of the lifetime achievement award. Before Lynch came out, they showed three short films from his early days (including The Alphabet), and then the applause set in and he took the stage. He was asked questions by two mediators and Lynch talked about all of his projects, from Eraserhead to Lost Highway and Twin Peaks. I can say that he effortlessly dodged some of the more direct questions, just like he always has. The most interesting parts were his comments on his inspiration and the relationship he has with actors.

In the open question section that followed, two questions were asked, though, that I thought were of interest to you: A kid asked if we were ever going to see the complete version ( Iguess the one that's supposedly longer than the TV cut) of Dune out on DVD. Lynch had mentioned that it was the only project he felt was a failure, and said that to have to spend more than 6 months recreating a project he felt he had sold out on from almost the beginning, would only feel like a bigger failure. So no, he said. You'll probably never see that happen.

On a brighter note, though, He got the question: "Have you ever thought of doing an animated film?" to which Lynch responded that yes, he had actually written a script called Snoot World (I hope I didn't hear that wrong) that he hoped would be a CG animated children's movie. How about that? "
