HI All

I just received my new version of Max 6, while installing it I was asked weather I wanted to use Open GL or Driver software?, which should I have chosen and what is the difference, I had selected Open GL.

And also what is the difference between the Educational Version and The Profession version, apart from the fact you can't use the Educational Version for commercial purpose's, thank you.
:)

Open GL is the right choice IMO
U also could choose directX 9
I also have 3ds max 6 and i already tried working with directx
and its as fast as Open GL now
(there was a time you have to use OpenGL!)

The quality of OpenGL is better than Directx

software driver is working without your graphic card
all the calculations will be done by cpu
so its much slower and terrible quality
(no antialiasing..at all)

the differences between the 2 version i donīt know..

i forgot to say that if you use directx
u could use special shaders in realtime (reflections....)
not that necessary but a possibility...
