Hi Guys ,

I am trying to get into armatures and was wondering if any of you tried em out yet?

The documentation on armatures is almost nonexistant so please share your knowledge here.

has anyone set up custom selection armatures?

Cheers ,
Ali

Gosh ... I'm still trying to wrap my head around Bloat and Metaeffectors ... but, I think I'm getting it. Ah yes... documentation ... the devil is in the details. Armatures looks very cool though.

I'm sure you've already seen Fred's videos on Armatures - nice overview:

I know one great use for Armatures will be for custom control rigs. I understand that Taron et al are using it to develop face rig controls similar to what Antropus has done using Maya:

I believe his animation has made it to the front page - awesome character animation.

Even C4d'ers are breaking out MOCCA to develop some rudimentary custom control rigs that are looking promising:

It seems to be the trend and everyone seems to be referring to Jason Osipa's custom facial rigs in his new book, "Stop Staring: Facial Modeling and Animation Done Right".

I've ordered me a copy :)

hey Chikega,
I have that book, and am planning on doing a similar setup in messiah. I think Joe Cosman calls it Synoptic View Controls. Great book btw. I'll let you know how it goes.

Please do. I'm looking forward to seeing some real life examples using Armatures in messiah.

My book should be coming any day now. :)
