CGTalk - Active Users List

Sorry, probably typical newcomer question:
Is it normal that my nickname still appears on the active users list of the subforum I last visited, even minutes after having logged out? When visiting a specific thread after logging out, my nickname doesn't appear, so I guess I have logged out correctly.
What could I be doing wrong?
