Why cant i weld two vertices on a editable poly object? :(

Editable Poly has more rules than Editable Mesh when it comes to mesh connectivity. It is difficult to answer your question without a more specific example of what you're trying to accomplish. Maybe a screenshot?

Should work, use vertex snap when you move the vertex it will snap on the 1 you move it towards, then use weld.

If it is a complex mesh, be careful it could snap to an unintended vertex.

If Max brings up the message "No weldable verts...etc" - then either increase your threshold, use target to drag one vert to the other, try Collapse instead of weld - or (this is the common one), check that their isn't a poly/face that will be 'sandwhiched' between other if you weld them... if there is then delete it.

There is a new verison of the Epoly.dlo that fixes this, or you can convert to an editable mesh - weld - then back to poly. But sometime this method will leave the poly 'within' the object causing some irregularities in the surface and errors when meshsmoothed.

There's a thread by DrPepperCan in which he has the same problem, check it out in case there's something else I've overlooked.

Hope this helps,

:)

you can get it here:

I've found it to be a bit buggy, so back up your original epoly.dlm...

yeah, i will
but its so annoying to delete faces to be able to weld verices.. I like the way meshedit handles it
