I really like this image, especially the guy's expression. My only gripes are the textures of the wood and the water. The wood seems to be stretched across the posts, and the water feels too metallic. Other than that I love this picture!

looks really great!

I really like this picture to... I would have to agree about the wood but I personally really like the look of the water. Although it does not appear realistic it has a great since of cartoon appeal to it especially around the base of the octo and hanging off the tenticle.... It seem almost thick which is nice.

dude, the water is so cool! Is that shader work? or postprocessing? Only thing that bothers me is that the wood and the... beast seem to have a different style (textures and such). that's all I can say, that water just rocks, though it looks a little strange where the beast is coming out of the water. Are you going for a "splash" effect? Or is it just what you had in mind about the physics of the water?

Cool...
Could we se the render without post so we get to see the difference?

I like the overall-look and the tentacle is especially cool. Great work...

Hey guys thanx for the replies,

Smurf taco, thanx dude... i try to get a cartoonish look at that image, so i just don't worry about some realistic details... but thanx for the critics anyway

Adam... i think u get the spirit of that work... thanx

Hey Garma, thanx man... the ocean water is just a shader work, with a little color correction in PS, and the drips on the octo arm is a hand-painted work in PS... i do not try to do a splash effect ... its more like a physical reaction of the water when the tentacle moves around

Heya Knoxville, thanx man... hehehe.. i have to agree about the green jelly look, but it also look like a cartoon ocean water doesn't it? i hope so heheh

Mikademius... i will post the render later ok? thanx man

Heh I really like this pic(maybe it's because i love cartoony things) I love the wide range of colors too. The water does look a bit metallic around the tentacle but it's still a great image overall.

PS I'd love to see an animation of this :D

Amazing!
:applause:
I don't like the water though, It needs more polygons.
It looks a bit like "3D-game water" when compared to the rest of the image.

I would like to see a game with water like that :D What a great image! It has oomph. I would like to see the suckers on the octopus arm have more depth to them. As it is they simply look like textures. I hope I'm not wrong, maybe I have a bad sense of depth... hehe.

I hope I come across more of your work in the future!

The water shader is bad... have you tried reducing the reflectivity when the camera is looking straight at the water surface? This more closely mirrors the way real water reflects light and would really help the picture I think.
