View Full Version : what's wrong with this??
two.oh 11-22-2003, 05:16 AM ive been trying to figure this out for 2 days and i cant seem to figure it out. i initially thought it was the texture, and so i applied the procedural texture to it and its not that. so i guessed that it must've been the geometry or the surface normals. i tweaked around: no luck.

i changed the normals to set to face, and nothing changes really. its really strange. but if anyone could figure this out, id really appreciate it.
thanks

Did you change the scale of the texture? It sort of looks like your texture scale or UV"s are doubled, compared to the other wall

i checked the UV maps and it doesnt seem so. and i changed it to the original maya procedural texture that maya loads up and it still looks like that. its bizarre

Hmmm sometimes 'set to face' does not work, due to the tickbox in the options being wrong for the occassion.
Try selecting all the edges , and running a 0 angle Soften/Harden (Normals submenu in Edit Polygons), or just MEL it:
polyEdgeSoft -a 0;
That screen shot is not very informative, so if you, or any others which give suggestions - cannot fix it.. just use the E-Mail function on my post to contact me, and attach the scene file, I'll give it a look when I wake up :wise:
Night :)
