Is it possible to turn ON 'RGB' (the default is HSV) to be default color scheme, somewhere, somehow?

Every time you exit color chooser in Maya, program is always put HSV to be default...

And is it possible to somehow get it to remember the custom swatches at the top after changing them?

And while we are at it, let me add one too! :p

Is it possible to bind the popup of the 'color chooser' to a hotkey? Or even better, a hotkey with the color picker (like the photoshop alt-key) for when I'm painting with the 3d paint tool...

When I open the script window and use 'echo all command' it doesn't show anything for the popup of the color chooser.

I had a quick hunt around for any startup or AE scripts in the Maya folders, but with no luck.

I did, however notice that there is a MEL command to create your own color chooser

`colorEditor`;

It won't be hard to make a hotkey for this, but as to linking the colour you choose to any current operation, I have no idea how it'll work. Maybe it's automatic?

I have a feeling then that the way the color chooser looks in regard to the RGB/HSV preference) is a tad on the "hard-wired" side of things.

Nope it's not I'm afraid. I can't stay and help much right now but perhaps what I've attached will help some of you.

I've attached a script I wrote for creating my own colour chooser, so that I could quickly change the camera environment colour for the current viewport.

I use it as a shelf button. When you're creating the colour chooser you have to code in which is the default mode (HSV or RGB) I think....and you tell it what values in Maya to update.
