View Full Version : Speed Sculpting Session nr1

I started to speed sculpt some time ago to get used to sculpting. Usually I just mess around with the tools but I think that practise makes perfect so mileage is one part of that.

Perhaps this model section is outdated here so why not start a sculpt session instead to follow the times ahead...

The idea with this thread is to post a speed sculpt from whatever program you choose, no wireframe necessary.
It can be only a screenshot. That way I don't get discouraged about messing around with renders and such when I sculpt something.
So start sculpting and show us your screenshots. :)

Time limit is anywhere between 5 minutes - 1 hour.

I try to do a speed sculpt everyday so I am gonna post some of them here to see if the thread can be picked up by others.

Btw this a everyday activity, so if you keep posting one or several speed sculpts a day is very much encouraged. :)

Here's mine, maybe 15 minutes something..... I'm gonna check the time better on the next one..

Ok lol that didn't go too well, at least I tried right?
I am officially giving up on this section, do what you want people......

Last one from me in here, have been experimenting with speed sculpts and then quick color and bump....

You gave it a shot. I may not actively participate in this "speed model" forum, but I check it all the time to get ideas for speed modeling (which I never post here because I am afraid to post ugly models).

If I had any idea how to use mudbox, I would give speed sculpting a whirl. However, I would probably need to spend a few hours just learning the basics before even attempting an actual speed sculpture.

What's going on with the textures on your models, that is to say, are you painting them on the model or applying them from a texture file?

I usually do these quick sculpts in Sculptris and in there you can use a picture as a brush. For these particular ones above I used some of my sketches as brushes and then experimented with opacity and then used them in a glazing kind of way.
