View Full Version : uw and subpatch

I would like to texture a subpatch model using only one uw map for it. Normally when I decided to project my model on uv, the mesh donīt respect the subpatch mode. The result is an uw map of my initial model. I need your help.

Yeah, this is an issue with LW's UV mapping. Sorry. The thing to do is just get it to fit as well as you can and hope for the best. I've come to be familiar with the results now so I sort of know what to expect from it. It may also require a bit of tweaking once you have the image ready to put on to the model. put it in the background of your UV view and watch your sub patch perspective view as you drag the UVs around. This will also give you a better understanding of what's happening. :)
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have been trying to get the solution so I think that a great way to get it, may be to make a freeze of the subpatch model. It increase the polygon number but the the uw map adjust perfectly. The problem, the number of polys. What do you think abuot that?

i've had problems before with this and found it related to having small and large polys together for tight areas. I've increased the polys just for those curves/edges or whatever and found my uv map to be more responsive. sometimes a little tweaking is still needed depending on the detail I want.
dunno if that helps.
