View Full Version : Character: My female character Genia...
peaxio 11-20-2003, 09:32 PM This is a drawing that I started to color for a little bit now. She's one of my characters named Genia. I'm going to redraw the line art once I get my hands on a tablet.
Any kind of critiques are welcome. State a point and back it up with facts. Don't just say "it looks nice/bad..." Tell me the reason why you think that too.
Here's the progress I have so far

What?! All these views and no comments?! This must be the most perfect pic ever that there's no need for any criticisms, huh?
I was going to say that it was nice....
But according to your post, you don't want such replies. Maybe there are more like me that don't have 'facts' to back up their critiques, or maybe they just think it's nice but they don't post because you asked them not to.
Anyway...

The point to giving critiques is to tell the artist what can be improved about your work. Saying it looks nice and nothing else doesn't really help with that. I didn't ask anybody to not post anything. I simply stated "any critiques are welcome" with the fact that there should be a reason why you liked it. I just want some constructive criticism. And you're right, there are more people here that just have nice things to say, but I need more than that.

Okay, her head looks too short from front to back, the human head is longer that way than side to side. I know the hair's in the way, but it should mound up a little more on top so you get the sense of a skull underneath.
Plus the breast area is a little off. The breast looks like it's being pushed up by something, but there's no shirt or bra there. You could also push the shading on the breast/arm area so there are more than just the two planes of dark and light, to give it a more 3-d feel.

my only crit is that her breast's are a tad too big... and they are pushed up but i am thinking that thier is a shirt pushing them up in which case they would appear larger but they are still too big... in my opinion ;)
but asides from that it looks really nice..
