Is there somebody who can explain me how I can make a background like it is in the picture -> the one behind the word CLUB!? The lines come from the inside and goo to the outside - should I do that with the gradient function???

Create a sunbean-like line. (use vector shapes for that)
Duplicate/rotate the line to create a full circle of such lines.
Once you have the circle, either mask it with a shape you need, or group it with a layer.
