New Blizzard Job Opening - Studio Technical Analyst

The search for a dedicated IT technician for Blizzard's Cinematics Team has just been announced! The Studio Technical Analyst will be responsible for building, configuring, maintaining and administering the desktop and render farm hardware our Cinematics Team relies upon to produce all of our award-winning cinematic sequences. The right candidate will have the proper mix of technical expertise and proven work experience from overseeing similar systems in a production environment. This is an incredible opportunity for a skilled IT person with knowledge and passion for CG to work with one of the best teams in the business!

Studio Technical Analyst:

The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining and administering the existing Blizzard Film Department network infrastructure. They will analyze workflow, as well as recommend, design and implement infrastructure improvements. Additional job duties will also include building, configuring, deploying, monitoring, modifying and repairing local, on-site workstations and rendering machines.

An ideal candidate would possess expertise in computer hardware and have advanced networking experience, as well as a demonstrated experience in designing, building, optimizing and administering PC-based render farms in a production environment.

Requirements:

* Outstanding customer service skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present complex issues and analyses in an effective manner
* Good organizational and time management skills
* Highly dependable, with a "Can Do" attitude
* Thorough familiarity with Rendering and 3D Graphics software
* Strong experience with scripting (i.e. PERL, Visual Basic) and the ability to create tools for network and software maintenance
* Extensive hardware experience (ability to build, diagnose and repair computers; strong troubleshooting skills)
* Intermediate level of installing and maintaining Windows 2000 and XP
* Basic to intermediate knowledge of network routing technologies (TCP/IP, DNS)
* Available for on-call for emergencies -and- must be able to work weekends, if necessary
* Able (and willing) to lift a minimum of 70lbs
* Passion for film, animation and computer games
* Minimum of four years of relevant IT experience, such as pertinent film/TV/game studio experience
