Hi all, here's my attempt at this competition.
From wikipedia : In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, portrayed as seductresses who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island.

I'm trying to make a beautiful but dangerous creature. Design wise, I wanted to keep it simple and clean. A lot of awesome entries here, so I will try my best. Good luck to you all ;)

Nice concept, and the sculpting is going ok, although she should be more dangerous than just having a small dagger.

Nice sculpt and concept threedsquid. How are you planning on doing the hair? are you going to keep it as sculpted geometry?

airflow : thanks, i'll try to make her look more dangerous later on, perhaps not by the weapon but by her appearances though..

gyrados : thank you, for the hair I'm not so sure at the moment, perhaps I will keep the geometry and add some alpha planes in the end..need to do some test later

Philip : thanks man! :D

and some small updates, I'm testing the pose, she's sitting to some sort of a treasure chest, but it might be changed to some rocks later.

Great start. I think if you could add to her a scary sight it would be so cool:) Just my opinion.... GL!

Marat-Ars : thanks! yes I also think making her more scary looking. Texture will hopefully helps.
fantasymaster : thank you!

I started to do some texturing. It's still very early, and the scale is not even modeled yet.
Now I'm thinking of making better pose, and possibly giving it more dynamic feel and expression, it's gonna be a busy 2 weeks!

The Siren queen
"Beautiful yet dangerous, the siren queen will seduce any sailor to fall into her trap.
Being a queen of the deep ocean, she can control deep sea creatures, and use them as her weapon.
Her trusted minions are two frilled sharks, a shark like creature with a body of an eel."

This is my final entry for this competition. I try to keep it simple while still make it interesting and different.
I model the basemesh in 3ds max, and after I unwrap it, I bring it to mudbox for sculpting and texturing. Final render was done in 3ds max ( mental ray ). Some tweaks on the textures and final image adjustment are done in Photoshop.

This competition has been a great learning experience for me. Being a first time user, I really how simple the UI and the texturing tools in mudbox. Will definetely learn more of this softare in the future.

Good luck to all!
