View Full Version : Demon :: Maquette
Here is a sculpture I made just for the hell of it.
It"s about 8" tall.
This is the original clay:

Here is the Bronze Casting I made of it.

The camera perspective is kind of weird. Anyways. Enjoy.

This is a great sculpture! Really creepy, but I guess that's the point :)
It's really cool to see some more sculptures being posted on CGTalk - I think that it's a great method of exploring form.
Thats cool. The other sculptures on your site are pretty nice as well, i agree its nice to see some other mediums on CGtalk.
But this momma is awesome ;)

Thanks for the comments everyone.
JHarford: Casting cost for something like this can vary. Looks like you are in the UK. My guess for a Foundry over there is around $300 US dollors. Not including mold. Which will probally cost the same.
I did everything myself so it makes it very afordable.
In short the process includes: Making a mold, then making a wax copy which is used in the lost wax process. After casting There is metal finishing then patina.
Leigh: Creepy? Yeah he is a little creepy. :)
The idea behind the cigarette was to give him a bit of a everyday human quality. Maybe he is on a smoking break during his daily demon tasks. ????

Rey, do you have a link to a book or video or online tutorials on how to make molds from clay sculptures?
