That link still didn't work, but by pure fluke, I found the correct link:

http://cmpa.ca.scad.edu/student/dabaldwi/zinge/demo_LG2.avi

I went to the student page first. and looked for a similar name.
:)

Ahh...It looks like the url is getting screwed up. Try copying the first and second line of the following together:

http://cmpa.ca.scad.edu/student/
dabaldwi/zinge/demo_LG2.avi

I am dl'ing it now...
Cheers!

Thanks Njen for tying to get that link working... but somthing about CGtalk cuts it up . . . O well. . . I'm glad you found it. I checked out your site and I love your landscapes!

Thank you phoenix, the song I used is
"Plus Profond" - Hooverphonic

I could use some more comments... so anything is welcome …before I commit this to VHS, and CD.

It's from SCAD, and it isn't wretched? Glad to know there are still some students working out there.... keep up the good work.

If you could, I'd be curious to know which classes/professors help with your lighting skills...pvt msg me please.

Well overall I like how the reel is cut. There is no repetition, and everything is not shown for too long.

I like the first scene of the little bouncing things on the ground

Hold on the final airplane image just a little longer (I think)

The renderman renders are nice, but why are they so small on screen? Fill the screen with them.

I would take out the first compositing picture (the blue and orange one)

I would really consider taking out the low polygon modeling parts if it's a lighting and effects reel.

If you have time, try to light an outdoor scene, and do some more compositing of 3D objects into a 2D backround. 90% of film work is based on this. If you can get these done, you will have a strong reel.

Keep it up! Cheers!

I like it, nice music track, no over-used tekno crap. :) I like the plane sequence, nicely done. I agree about the low polygon stuff, if it's not necessary, leave it out. Loved the expression-based robot, that was funny to watch. :bounce:

All in all, 8 of 10.

Only problem I had was with the end credits, I have a dark monitor, and the typeface was very thin, so I couldn't read the words at all.
