I'm looking for a way to export a 16bit sequence from After Effects CS5.5.
I need to send it over the web, so it has to be as small as possible.
Best would be lossless, or very high quality.

Right now I'm looking at compressed PNG 16bit, but the filesize is rather huge, 5mb per 1080p frame.
I guess EXR would be better, but it seems to only support 32bit.
JPEG and similar file formats can only export 8bit from AE.

Adobe Media Encoder can't export higher than 8 bit at all, as it seems.

I'm open to any suggestions.

thanks, Marc

Not sure what you are implying here. This is no limitation in AE, those formats are simply just 8bit.

No. There are 16bit EXR types, but even they are float, not integer formats.

I'm open to any suggestions.

16bit TIFFs and PSDs.
