View Full Version : vehicle: Sports Car
kunal 11-17-2003, 05:24 PM My first post. My first 3d sports car I did as a part of my online portfolio. All done in 3ds Max 5.1 and rendered using default scanline renderer. I've used advanced lighting feature (light tracer).http://www.kunaldhiman.com/3dstills/caronroad.JPG

cool car, one thing i dont like about the render (other than being only half of it) is the chrome, it just looks wrong,...

sabaman:Thnx for the comment. I finished this one a few weeks ago and is lazy to erect chrome render. I agree with the weired looking chrome. Posting another view edited a little in Pshop. I guess chrome looks better here. Next time i'll take care but begginers love chrome:)

Sweet. :)
Nice depth to your renders, your 'car' has a mix of many cars...many cars come to mind.

This one is a straight render from Max.

Hey this one looks great. I like the reflections you put on it!
can you tell me how you did the material for the red one? I like that one. You really got the technique to wipe others out of your way. Bring it on!

Very nice modeling and very pretty renders as well. I think you did a overall good job and this will look nice as a self promo peice. The only things I disliked is the strenghth of the yellow stripe in the first render and teh overall lack of antialiasing in the renders. Up that just a notch and you have a winner :)!
U mind telling how you did the solid wire render or is that just some photoshop magic?

Thanks again people. This is cgtalk, a community to share views and learn from each other, so, I'll never mind answering.
el_shadow: The car paint material I did was based on the good information I had from neil blevins site and some tinkering around with mixed raytrace materials in shellac.
Mr.black: Simply apply a square bitmap with black borders in diffuse channel and check face map on.
