View Full Version : painter8.1 updated,but the bug No.11 appears,why????

the official website says that 8.1 fixes the bug no. 11:
11. CPU remained at 100% if the Brush Tool was selected and the cursor was idle over the canvas - even when doing nothing.
my original paiter8.0 have this problem, but the cursor appeared normal and fluent when move over the canvas. Very straingely, when updated to 8.1, this bug deepens. the cursor delays when moving over.

You don't say if you tested this using exactly the same conditions as were used in Painter 8 (pre patch installation).
It could be that you're working with different brush variants as some are known to be slow in responding.

Yes, under the very same condition. beforce installing the 8.01 patch, no problem, after that, it comes out.
Actually, every brush now has the problem. but as soon as it draws a line, the problem disappear. however next time when I choose another variant, the problem comes again. and so on...

The best thing I can suggest is to send a detailed, but very clear, report directly to Corel Painter Program Manager Rick Champagne at:
Include your full system specifications, OS version, Painter version number, and any other details about what you were doing.
If both of you do that, it will help so they'll know this is happening to more than one person.
Anyone else having this problem, please send your reports to Rick Champagne too.

I have reported this problem to the corel company and they replied that they will check it out.
By the way, zhalimuto, what display card do you have?

I've had the same problem also, it definitely wasn't there with 8.0 Iíve uninstalled and reinstalled to 8.0 the update didn't really do anything for me.

I had the same problem as you describe with the 8.1 patch. This problem seems to be caused by the "Brush Ghosting" preference. A work around is just go to the General Preferences and disable the "Brush Ghosting".

thanks for the work around, it fixed me up right away.
Just click once outside the canvas and the brush behaves normal.
The problem also appears when loading another colorset.
I know this is a dumb solution for a problem that shouldn't be there in the first place.

it's ok for you guys, i've not even been able to update my painter 8 :/ kinda frustrating, maybe it's because i went the electronic route from the 30 day demo hopefully corel will put out the upgrade for those of us that bought it that way soon.
