Hello.

Im trying to remove the objects visibility but keep the shadows that fall on the object when rendering with mental ray but it aint working for me.
Searching the net, i found that it should work with primary visibility turned off in render stats but i have tried a million settings and it aint working.
Any help would be appreciated. Below you can find the mb file and some render testings.

without primary visibility you can make the object to CAST shadows, not to receive them (because you can't see the object :) ).
What you are looking for is the "use background" shader, or something similar, there are many ways to get this kind of effect.
You can also go for a more photographic approach and model the set as a curved plane and assign a white shader to it
