Hi guys!

I recently stumbled across Trololo viral stuff (seems to be quite the popular thing, but has missed my screen up until recently) and ended up watching this video of Eduard Khil ... which I thought was just funny until the video hit the spot where he made that crazy awesome facial expression. That one hit me hard! :)
And then it was clear to me that THIS is the perfect look for my challenge entry. Basically I want to use much of that face and pose, stick some firepower to it and watch it strike fear in the hearts of those unfortunately enough to meet his eyes... after all crazy people manage to hit the hardest... at times where you just don't suspect them.

First step: scene setup and base mesh in Maya.

Next step: Mudbox base level 4. Low budget - proportions and basics. Nothing more.

I did some quick photoshopping to get an idea for the handgun.

Attributes that I wanted to stress:
1. unnecessary roughness
2. uniqueness - but based on something people know
3. power meter on full - to suggest the party is just about to start!

1. I thought would be covered by the desert eagles .50 caliber (I mean - seriously? to shoot dinosaurs or what?)
2. long barrel mod with laser aim
3. energy display on laser aim

Nice Update Man,
I agree with Ernst. Nice Job. The folds on the suit look great.
The sharp ironing fold is nice, looks a bit odd on the thighs though. maybe one or two bigger folds from the hips and crotch could break it up.
The gun looks ace as well. Keep it up

nice update man,
as you suggested, iŽd flip the knifes blade.
i also have some concerns regarding the trigger. it took me some time to realize what it is.
so maybe try to replace the radio antenna whith a cable, that connects to the bomb. i think that would help to read it faster and clearer.

keep it up

@cristianopolicarpo: thanks, it's a lot of fun making a crazy guy :)
@lukasvogl: Sorry for the late answer ... you're totally right, the trigger isn't recognizable enough ... I like the idea with the cable, however I guess it would be quite in the way and prevent him from freely making use of the knife.
Maybe I'll add some red LED on the trigger and the device on his chest to suggest that those items are connected and the thing in his hand can be used to make the boom! Also I'll give the ironing fold on his thighs a pinch to make them sharper when I next touch the pants.

Cheers guys!

I'm in the middle of texturing right now ... here's a quick update on the side.

I decided to go for an early test render ... otherwise it's a bit hard to judge the texture balancing. Plus I've decided to try Marmoset Toolbag for the first time.
Turns out to be a very neat tool!

Thanks Max :D
Just in time I found out that Marmoset has post effects in it's repertoire as well ... which added quite a bit of kick to the final image.
I really am starting to like that tool for sure :D
