3DQuakers have some quality tutorials on rigging and scripting. Dont know much about video tutorials on python but you can grab whatever you can to learn the language itself (and thats the hard part), after which it would be easy enough to get through SDK (or something like this (http://sanders3d.blogspot.com/2008/09/simple-crash-course-on-with-xsi-and.html)) to see what is softimage specific.
