View Full Version : LW poly tag in Cinema?
http://www.presetcentral.com/browse/19.html
Downloaded this figure model from PresetCentral and loaded her into Cinema.
On the model there are a series of tags, I can only guess they're for boning or something similar. The Point Selection tags look similar, but I can't figure out what these do.
Anyone know?

These aren't point selection tags, these are Vertex maps. These are used mainly for boning, but now many plugins are taking advantage of them like supernurbs and such.
really!
Do you have a link to such a plugin?
or will they work with Cinema's bone system?
Damn I love supernurbs :D

Lets you use vertex weight to vary the amount of hyper nurbs smoothing from 0 - 100% :)

Yes, as I said, they are used mainly for boning, so yes they work with bones. Now some plugins doing other things like weighted subdivision and displacements and such are taking advantage of them.
Kai, I'm not seeing anything in the manual about them, but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to perhaps get bones to only affect polygons with that tag?
Kai, nevermind responding here, I'm going to start a new thread regarding Cinema's bones... :D
<---stupid person who just read the manual again and saw things he didn't see before...
