i got an ... odd issue with zbrush, not certain how to work around this
trying to decimate my model so i can export an obj into maya and bake out normal maps
but whenever i try to decimate the thing i get this kind of error

i recall decimating something like this before with relatively same number of polygons without any issues, so i dont understand why this thing is giving me issues now

Well, if ZBrush doesn't have enough memory it doesn't have enough memory. Either go buy some additional RAM or try to decimate your model at a lower subdivision level.

You are aware that you can bake normal maps in ZBrush right? Alternatively, you can export both the highest and the lowest subdivision level in OBJ format and bake the normal maps in xNormal (http://www.xnormal.net/Downloads.aspx).
