View Full Version : Lizard Warrior
Runefall 11-14-2003, 06:47 PM Hi everyone, this is my first post in the 2D section. Nothin special, just a typical lizardman. I wanted to experiment with a comic style shading. I'm not that great at coloring yet, but I'm gonna give it a try if I can find time between classes. Crits are always welcome.

wow man this is really good. the central blocks are well placed, and in such a way that there is a lot of motion conveyed. the musculature, though its a fantasy creature, seems spot on, and your use of simulated perspective is excellent.
can't wait to see this colored.
the only things i might change is the left arm (his right).
it seems like the foreshortening messed with you a little bit, but further than that it doesn't look like its the same style as the rest of him. the arm looks like an after thought.

Thanks for the crit, here's an updated version. I added in more shading, placed his right hand in front of the necklace instead of behind, and fixed some perspective on his nose.

Here's some progress. This is my first serious attempt at coloring something, so suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking of giving him some spots/stripes/markings, any thoughts?

spots might help. its looking really good already, probably since the black/white shading was already very strong.
i have to say, i really dig the hand in front of the necklace as opposed to behind. a great improvemnet.

Very cool. I think you should add a background. other than that, I don't know what could be improved (other than finishing it, but it wouldn't be here if it was done, would it :D)
