Hi all...sorry for resurrecting an old thread. I pretty much started over completely and would like some feedback. I feel like it's finished, but would love to hear any crits or suggestions for improvement.
The pic is for a children's book, I'm working on. The first image is the most recent..

funny.. i like the way it`s looking at the viewer ( really foolish ). I`d say that the colours are a bit too saturated.

I dont think the colours are too bad, Seeing as this is for a childrens book, people should maybe show their kids to get a more helpful response?

looks to me like it is a kids book picture. its funny though and yes the cloud should be plain.

Personally, I love it. This belongs right between "Yendor" and "One Monster After Another". Just because the kids moved out, doesn't mean the books did.

Thanks for the comments!
I'm interested in any crits/suggestions for improvement, if anyone has 'em.
I might try out some different approaches for the clouds...I'm not totally convinced that this is the best solution yet.
Thanks again!

you might want to make the mountain in the distance a bit more like the rock by the monster. It is a little to plain right now and then give the clouds a little more depth to them (not to much tough). So that the monster and the rock harmonize a little better whit the rest of the picture.

just some thoughts

Here's a belated bid for the revised version. I think the revised anatomy works much better. So does using the violet for it's eyes, spots, and legs. It's been my experience that even young children, who are still being read to, enjoy detailed images in their books.

Thanks for the reply Keight

I received some good c&c from the Focused Crits forum, so there may still be a few revisions left when I find some free time.
Thanks!
