I started modeling this car with spline using "Bezier Corner" but i have some stupid problems, and every car I try to model has the same mistakes.

The wire...

And here are the problems...

As you can see, the circled areas aren't smoots as they should be, why are they so bumby. What can I do improve this?

I don't have that much experience, I've only been modelling for a couple of months, but the first thing I would do is insert vertices on the problem edges and move them (the vertices) so they average out the edge.

Hopefully you should get a smoother curve this way.

dunno what 3d package u r using, but in maya, you have many options to maintain tengency. 1) u can insert isoparms to match both the surfaces'
s topology and then attach them, this way u have a smooth and continious surface (u can detach after that, they will still maintain tengency) 2) u can rebuilt the surface to their respective number of spans, or u can choose to to rebuilt uniformly but keep the CVs, this way u do not lose your overall shape after u rebuilt.
personally, i think modeling a car in NURBS is very difficult, there are many operations needed to be done in order to achieve a somewhat complicated car part, while polys, on the other hand are, easy and great for surfacing organic and non-organics. (but IMO NURBS yield better results... they just drive u insane that's all.)
good luck and practice.

Thanks for help guys.

Hey Nomous, I'm using Max 5, and this is very anoying!! I also tried doing a car in NURBS, you know, like making a "Fill Box" and drag the edges, but that's worse than this is. What's the matter with me? Am I the only person here who can't model? Ughhh!

So what's the best thing? Poly modeling?

well, nurbs in max suck .... but it rocks in Maya and rihno i guess

i can't work with splins as well in max. but some people find it easier than poly modeling

i use the poly modeling on WHATEVER i want to do.

find the modeling technique that you are comfortable with nad go modeling :D

good luck
