I'm modeling a chimpanzee that has no arms, but instead uses mechanical arms placed where his normal arms would be.

I am a bit confused how to rig him.

Right now, all the parts of the chimp are seperate meshes (body/shoulder, upper arm, lower arms, hand, fingers).

Ideally, the shoulder area should move a little bit when the mechanical arm moves, so it probably isn't as simple as applying an IK Chain from the upper arm to the hand. At the same time, the ideal movement for mechanical arms calls for straight-ahead pivoting with zero deformation (no creases when the arm bends).

Any ideas how to rig this guy? Thanks in advance!
