View Full Version : Dark/blue areas !

Hey there!

I have a huge problem that is bothering me for a while, and can't find out a way through it.

In some renders (had this a problem even in c4d) in 3ds max and vray my dark areas become very dark and blue. I don't think it would look naturally like that, but I don't know how to make it right.

I tried different color mapping, different white balance in camera, I lowered shutter speed... nothing.

Anyone can help? please?

One problem is, that when I see how prepasses build itselves - the light seems to be okay, but when the main render comes out- BOOM ! dark blue areas...

I'm in a little hurry and have no more ideas of what should I do.

If you have even the dumbest idea - post it! :)
Have to try everything in fixing this ...

What are you using to illuminate the scene sun and sky or a HDRI?
If you are using sun and sky check the ozone is not set too high because this causes the indirect light to take on a more blue tint but I cant imagine it would make it this blue.

I had a problem with an exterior scene where the indirect light was green pretty much the same problem as you are having. To fix it I had to render out into different passes and comp it together in photoshop. I just desaturated the GI pass a little and used selective colour to remove the green in the GI pass which solved the problem. This my be the route you will have to take.
