CGTalk - Draw Split Tool

WTF, I keep tying the Draw Split Tool from the Bonus Game Menu, and I cannot get it to work. I tried all the key and mouse combinations, and I keep getting crashes when I tried it with the ctrl key and middle mouse button.

What am I doing wrong? I can't split jack shit. Right now, I'm just using the good ol' Split Polygon tool until I figure this out.

How old is your version of the plugins?
I had the old package too, and I think the DrawSplit didn't work too well either, but there's this new version at www.aw.sgi.com which fixes some of the tools, and adds tons of new tools. Check it out.

I have had similar problems also... it just won't work (or it will crash out maya). It's a cool idea, but even the old version for 3.0 was horribly unstable, sometimes it would work great, but most of the time it would produce a good ol' fatal error. It would be nice if they could get it working all nice and stable.

I just figured it out.

Somehow, the tool setting's Min Draw Sample Size had been set to 2(how did THAT happen?).

I went ahead and reset the tool, and it's fine now. :D

Oh yeah, I forgot all about that! I had to reset the tool to get it to work too.

Too bad you can still get a fatal error quite easily if you use the tool wrongly...

lol now mine works also fine.....had to reset the tool (but I'm sure I didn't change anything)
