View Full Version : Scripting in AE6
Susurrus 11-12-2003, 05:51 AM I just received AE6 and I have been playing with it a few days. I looked in the manual and on pg 404 they talk about using scripts for automating saving etc. They say to go to File>Run Script>... but I dont have that option under my File menu? What gives? They also say to put scripts into your Scripts folder on your HDD, but there isnt one in my install directory.
Any help would be appreciated. I looked through the manual, and all of the CD and I cannot see what I am doing wrong.
O, also the manual says AE6 will install a Java Debugger, but I cannot find that either.
Im totally frustrated.
Thank you for your help in advance,
Keith W.

File > Run script
I've got it! That's weird...
Maybe its like the difference between AE5.5 and AE5.5 production bundle. My version says AE6 professional in the about window... it should be in plain text under and to the right of the main large "Adobe After Effects 6.0" text.

After all the looking I did last night, and by your post Ian, the scripting feature is a Production Bundle feature, and I have the Standard edition.
I swear, I looked in the manual about 50 times, and it doesnt say the script function is Prod only. The closes I can come to it saying it Prod only is the new Render Cueing function is Prod only, and the scripting has to do with that.
I thank you for the relpy Ian, and it looks like I will have to see if I can get he Prod bundle after all
Thank you again.
