I think this function is included in "mi_car_paint_phen_x (_passes)".
Softimage Wiki (http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/xsidocs/mentalray_mi_metallic_paint_output_mixer.htm)
I am using PaintMat with ArchMat.
" mi_car_paint_phen_x.result >>> mia_material_x.additional_color "
or
"mib_color_mix" for layering.
Anyway, I never use this shader...
