CGTalk - Maya "Listener"?

I don't know if a listener is the correct nomenclature, but about 6 months ago I saw a cool script that ran a mel command based on a node's attribute change. I remember thinking "That's awesome, I should remember that command", but for the life of me, I can't find it.

So basically, I need a mel script to run whenever "cube1.visibility" changes. How do I do this, preferably in Mel.

Thanks for the reply. I realize that they are in a state of always evaluating, so they can add considerable slowdown, correct?

I am building a specific rig and I want to hide key-able attrs depending on another attr. If I use 2 to 3 max in a scene will this be an issue?

Any other reasons I should be careful on how I use these?
