View Full Version : Vray rendering areas outside of Resolution Gate

I have a problem.

Vray is rendering an area outside of the Resolution Gate in the viewport, rendering at (1280x960). Any ideas?

Here is the viewport, notice the image should cut off at the hedge on the right:

however, the render includes an area beyond that:

This is important because I am attempting to line it up with a backplate that I'm also using as an imageplane on the camera. The imageplane is the same resolution as the render, 1280x960

ideas what's going on?

EDIT: seems to be the Vray physical camera. The 'film gate' setting affects the final render, but doesn't seem to affect the Resolution Gate in the viewport? I think...very confusing : /

it is the overscan in your camera. It is normally at 1 but when you use your resolution gate it get changed to 1.3. vray think it is still at 1.
To avoid this you will have to frame you image without the resolution gate.
