Hi! HELP ME!!!

Why not save the maya the Preferences and the Shelves??

For example: I want to SAVE ALL SHELVES and the Maya write me in the Script Editor:
/ Error: Can't open the file: D://maya/5.0/prefs/shelves/shelf_Surface

If I want to SAVE the Preferences...:
// Warning: Save of "D://maya/5.0/prefs/userHotkeys.mel" failed //
// Warning: Save of "D://maya/5.0/prefs/userNamedCommands.mel" failed //
// Warning: Save of "D://maya/5.0/prefs/pluginPrefs.mel" failed //
// Warning: Not all preferences were saved. See Script Editor for details. //

But the files are on this folders.

The Maya save my Scenes and Projects, but my preferences aren't save...

Why do this, and what is the Answer...

/Sorry for my bad english/

I've never had this problem, but it may be that the files are read-only.

if that's not it, try deleting (or moving them to another folder) the files and maya will create a new set of them. Then you can copy-paste the code from the old into the new files.

Thanks.
I will try it.

But I don't understand:
Why Copy-Paste the old value to the new file???

well, if you're using a pretty much default interface, don't bother. But personally, I have a lot of time invested in those preference files.

Half succesful...

Now:
The attribute editing not good to save...

But If I delete anything from the maya/5.0/prefs folder and try to save it's saving!!!

But twice it's not saving.

Again delete....

What is the BUG???

You use a NTFS FileSystem or a FAT32???

absolutely ntfs. fat32 blows. not so bad as the old fat, but still sucks.

another thought, you do have write priveleges to that folder, right? at school, we aren't allowed to save prefs/shelves/hotkeys or anything like that to the main maya folder; has to be done via the My Documents/maya/5.0 instead of the Program Files/maya/5.0.

also, the drive has space available for the files?
