hi

can someone tell me how the imported animtion-data look like in cinema 4d after importing them from motionbuilder?

do i have to plot the animation so that i have got a key on every frame, or are the keys translated from the rig to the bones, so that i am able to tune the animation inside c4d.

cheers chris

You have to plot the animation. That's the only way that you can export animation from MB. The animation can be imported either as PLA animation or animation plotted to the bones. In either case you end up with keyframes on every frame, so making adjustments within Cinema is not practical.

One tip, can often be risky, but if you have mocca you have a great key reduction tool, you can use this to reduce the key ina fairly accurate way alloowing for editing in C4D. but reduce too much and your animation may be screwed up.

i also thought about this :)

i will wait until 8.5 ships and then test it ... got 29 days left for testing mb, so enough time for testing i hope :D
